Congratulations to BDJ on obtaining his learner's permit! He's been driving a lot and rubbing his older brother's and sister's noses in it. He isn't too bad - frightens me a little with a couple things but for the most part he's doing a bang up ... er, smashing ... um, fantastic job! He had a little more trouble in the Beemer than in my Lucy II (yes, I named my car), but that's the way things go with a stick. He will get better with practice and will benefit from a driving course. I think KVS may be next, but I'm sure DBR won't be far behind. :-) You'll be some of the first to know.
Editorial side vent - this is my opinion. In no way do I mean anything as a threat. While my anger may be expressed through words, my actions speak loudest as I calmly watch the world go round.: How does one not know what one's spouse is doing? Of course we are all individuals and there is potential to do anything when no one is around, but if your spouse had not only been charged but also convicted of indecent assault and gross indecency against girls, and you have had a computer in your house, and his sisters have accused him of molesting them, and his mother says he's had problems for years, wouldn't you watch a teensy bit closer? And why would you allow him to come to your work, if not to feed his addiction? If he is supervised then you know he can't hurt anyone. When or why or what causes this monster to still be accepted and be associated with anyone? I may be completely off in left field on this one, but it's really leaving a bad taste in my mouth. There may be more than one victim here, but adult victims almost always have a choice. Babies do not.
What would you do if you found out your spouse was looking at porn? Alternately, does it matter to you? Have you found the stash of magazines and spoke to him about it? Are you now confident he 'doesn't do that anymore'. Would it matter to you if it was one or two times, or if happened regularly? Would the type of porn make a difference? Would you be more accepting of 'vanilla' porn and more offended if it was orgies or homosexuality or something more explicit? Do you yourself like some forms of porn and so turn a blind eye toward what "does it" for others, even if it is a bit more risque? What say you decide to do a little computer clean up and you find pictures or movies with titles indicating underage sex, lolitas or kiddie stuff? What would you do, say, think? What if he said that last time was the last time? What would it take for you to say, "Enough. I can't ignore this any longer."? Your spouse being the administrator of a website that distributed child pornography? Your spouse accepting LIVE feeds of children being abused? Your spouse USING a webcam to film the abuse of children? When would enough be enough?

Getting ready to buy tickets to the Phantom of the Opera with my B friend. She's not sure when she will be here and I am neither, but we will definitely be getting in on one of the performances. I am so very, very excited! She's seen it before live but I have not - only on DVD. I would also like to go back to the Citadel Theatre and see some more plays this year. There seem to be some good ones coming, so that is exciting as well. The diversity of the actors is incredible, and I love the way that it is intimate; I feel like the play is being put on just for me! It is very great. I think that will be my thing when I'm a grandparent (which better be a very, very, very long time away) is to take my grand babies to the kids theatre and other places. It is something I wish my mom had been around to do - I know she would have done cool things as a Granny. They would have been even more spoiled than they are already! So it is one of the things I would like to do. Another is go to the Art Gallery with Auntie B - I think she's the one who hasn't been there yet.
So, that is about all for now. The boys will be home shortly from football practice and KVS is at work so I should go sneak into the tub with my book and just relax for a bit. Dadums is coming over to do bbq-ing, have supper and get his hair zipped, and then he's going home to watch the game and I'll probably be hitting the sack - after I pick up K from work.
