Days Passing Quickly

I cannot believe how quickly the days pass. It's already September 2017, in case you missed it. My Granny was right - time goes more quickly the older you get.

Our lives are busy. Darrin's been working away a lot and now has to go to Manitoba for a 3 week stint. Then hopefully it will be Grande Prairie - at least a little closer to home. He's getting tired of up north. Just too much of the same, I think. Well, he's got a couple change ups now, so that should help.

Ariya and Hendrix are growing like weeds! Ari starts 3 year old playschool on Monday! I can't believe she's old enough for school. It seems like yesterday we were in Bre's hospital room meeting her for the first time. She asked Pōpa to be with her when she goes in. That's pretty special to him.

Hendrix is going to love his time with Mommy by himself. He sure loves her and Daddy a lot. He also has a penchant for Pōpa too - must because he looks so much like Daddy. Before we know it he'll be going to playschool and will likely ask Pōpa to go too. 😃

Went to see the ob/gyn today. Trying to figure out what's going on with my bladder repair/mesh insertion. I can feel it inside but he says he can't. I also believe I have a cyst on my ovary. So onto an ultrasound as the next step. In one way I hope he finds something but on the other hand I don't want to undergo another surgery. We'll see what happens.

I'm talking with my friend Laura. She's an Irish lady living in France with her husband and four kids. Two of the kids are out of the house and the other two are pretty busy, so she and Marty are starting to feel the empty nest syndrome. It takes a little getting used to but when we (finally) got the last ones out the door, it's sure nice. I like having my time to myself when Darrin's away and when he's home it's all the more sweet. Laura has a darling little granddaughter named Ruby. She's a button that's for sure. And, like ours, growing way too fast.

I'm making up my memorial songs. I know, pretty morbid. I want to know that the songs I want are mine and not what grieving relatives have picked mostly based on emotions. I'm also going to do a folder for Darrin and I both with pics to be shown. At least will be one less thing the kids need to worry about.

In putting together a folder, I'm listening to some pretty awesome tunes. I'm really into Despacito, both the Spanish version and the one with Justin Bieber.

I've been pricing out kitchen stuff. Man some of it can get expensive. I thought refacing our cabinets or getting new doors would be do-able but oh no ... WAY too much money. They've got some great cabinet paints out now, so I believe we'll be going that route. Still, there's the cabinets, the counter tops, new knobs, back splash, over the stove microwave, a couple of doors we'll need built, deciding what to do with the top part of the counters that lean out, plumbing for a built-in dishwasher, hopefully move the fridge, flooring, trim and moulding. Phew!!

That's about all for today. Here's another sneak peek of Drey and Joanna:

Toodles!
