Top of everyone's lips is coronavirus, current variant omicron (previous was delta). Darrin and I have had 3 shots now. Who knows if that will help; maybe we're just prolonging the inevitable. Our family has it except for Dreytan, and the little kids. I'm not sure when Braunt and Bre will be getting them done. It's a big decision when it can affect little ones.
Christmas was very nice. We were at Drey and Joanna's; she put on an incredible spread of ham and all the fixings. Everyone was there except Kiershyn and Tyler, who were both working.
Presents followed, with the kids going first. They got lots of fun stuff. We're taking them to West Edmonton Wall to stay in the Luxury Safari Room, go to see Sing 2, supper with Uncle Drey and Auntie Jo, then off to the water park on Sunday!!! Other than shaving my legs, I'm pretty excited. LOL It sounds like Dustun, Nicole and Gunnar will be coming with us too! That will be awesome for the kids to have a friend to play with.
Do is moving back to Alberta. I think he's had enough of the fires and floods and expenses in West Bank. He's got a very nice place here; I'm sure he'll be happy. It's close enough for him to have privacy, while allowing plenty of walking trails for him to galavant all over.
I did a search of my natural father's birthday - somehow it got wiped out of my spreadsheet. In searching it out, I ran across the family tree for my Nana's family! Goes back to 1755. The kids and I weren't in there, so I had us added. I see Deb's and Lori's families aren't complete, however they strike me as being more private, so it's not surprising.
The fam jam is doing well. Drey and Joanna are plugging along, getting things done. Drey quit his job at Celanese and started a fire extinguisher sales, maintenance and recertification. He's doing well for himself. Jo works at a few different labs, and hospitals, giving out the pokes and taking the blood.
Kiershyn and Tyler are moving forward too. Kier works at Misericordia in the ER department. She works days, afternoons and evenings. Tyler works at NWR, and works 12's days and nights. They would like to buy an acreage, but I think it's a little out of their reach right now. Maybe in a few years.
Braunt, Breanna, Ariya and Hendrix are doing great. Braunt works for Suncor in Fort McMurray and is on a one week on, one week off, so they get lots of time together. Breanna is home with the munchkins - Ary's in Grade 2 and Hendrix is in kindergarten - among all the other things busy mommies do. Braunt and Bre would also like to buy a different house; I don't know what their timeline is like.
Darrin is still with Bird - this was year 10! He's built a good career with them and he (for the most part lol) enjoys his job. The hardest part is not knowing when he'll be working and when he'll be home. Sometimes it's a 2/2 weeks, 1/1 week, 3/1 weeks. It's nutso. Kind of hard to plan anything. We got out once this past summer to go camping - we used Braunt and Bre's trailer. It was such a treat. We sold our trailer in May. After all was said and done, the little trailer cost $4,000 for 6 years of camping. Pretty damn good. As much as we'd like a bigger, nice trailer, that's only possible if Darrin gets an LOA job, and it doesn't look too favourable for that. I can dream a little.
