Cubby's Coming Soon!

Tyler and Kiershyn's little girl will be arriving before Pōpa gets home in 14 days. I am so excited. Another little human to fall in love with. Being a granny is truly different than being a mommy. Granny gets to snuggle and hand back when they're cranky. Granny gets to whisper in their ear, all the loving things I have to say. Granny gets to enjoy watching them grow and capturing their accomplishments. Granny gets to share unconditional love. It amazes me how, when I first met Ariya and Hendrix, I fell completely in love. The little hand wrapped around my finger and heart immediately, just like with my kids. Incredible.

Cubby is a little girl - size wise. Just over 5 lbs, she's in the 25th percentile. That's not bad. She's going to be a little smudge. I know she's going to be perfect. She's 1/4 me, so there's no doubt. I can't wait for Ariya and Hendrix to meet her. Especially Ari. She's at the perfect baby age. Heck, she can unofficially babysit (with mom there) right now. Then in just 3 years, she'll be able to take her course and be on her own!

Darrin had a good performance review, raise and bonus this year. They're going to change up his position so he will be on more jobs at the start, to set things up. I think he'll enjoy the new challenges it will bring, including the opportunity to work with different people.

We had an early Easter with Ariya and Hendrix. We bought them a bunch of clothes and then gave them the towels we had Karissa make for them. Ariya's has a puppy reading a book embroidered on her towel as well as her name. Hendrix has Squirtle from Pokemon and his name on it too. They are big enough to wrap all the way around and will be fun to take swimming and to the beach.

I have been talking with a new friend in England. His name is Ed and he's interning to be a doctor. Right now he just wants to get through this part and become a GP. He said he would like to further train to be a forensic psychiatrist. Very interesting. We talk back and forth sporadically. We're both busy living life so the letters are sometimes a few weeks between. I'll be firing a note off tomorrow; just to let him know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

Here's our baby. I think she has her daddy's cheeks and her mommy's button nose.
