Oh What I Think I Know

I think I know a lot about nothing. I'm well read, but if no one wants to know what I know, then do I really know anything? Me thinks not.

I've been doing a lot of reading of articles today. Everything from CBD vs THC for cancer (I thought THC was the one for cancer - it appears I may be wrong) and leisure and anxiety, to castles in the Netherlands. How chemotherapy may actually spread cancer. Wine has really made a comeback and so many women just can't seem to do much of anything without it. I wonder why it is acceptable to become so drunk and disorderly that you can't get yourself home, but staying at home and having a CBD or THC (or both) smoke is unacceptable. Being a medical marijuana user, I see distinct advantages to pot over alcohol. I'm not wrecking my liver, embarrassing myself, being promiscuous, loud or obnoxious. Oh but, some will say, you're wrecking your lungs. Gotcha there - I use oil tinctures as well as smoking it. The oils take longer to take effect, but they also last a lot longer. More like my medications. I can also still drive with CBD - it doesn't give you the "high" and willy nilly effects. It simply calms and relaxes you - takes your anxiety away (like the medications I take) and keeps it at bay. THC will get you "high", with your head floating in the clouds and you definitely should NOT drive while under the influence. Both THC and CBD serve a lot of purposes and cure, maintain and minimize mental health issues. I look forward to next July when it's available to the general population. Hopefully we'll get different strains with more CBD and more labelling to say exactly what you're getting. I'll still consult my doctor about what's best for me and how I should use it. I'm so thankful for him.

Ariya and Hendrix are coming for a sleepover tomorrow night while Mommy and Daddy are at a wedding. We're so excited. We might have one change though - usually Hendrix sleeps with Granny and Ari sleeps with Popa. Well, lately Hendrix has been having a little separation anxiety from Mommy so Granny might have both of them in bed with her. Hendrix feels better when Ariya's there. I'm sure going to be missing my king size bed then! LOL I'm not sure what time the kids are coming. Some time after supper - probably around 7 or 8. That will give us time for a soothing bath and then some milk and then sleepy time. Gawd I hope it goes well haha ... last time wee Hendrix was here, Mommy tried to put him to sleep then just as she was leaving he woke up. Then she finally snuck out the door and I snuck into bed only to have him wake up and howl like the dickens ... so much so that Mommy had to come back and get him. Poor fella. He just REALLY loves his Mama.

The wedding is coming! The wedding is coming!!! I'm getting so darn excited about Dreytan and Joanna's wedding. Both being in it and helping plan and arrange things. The more I think about it, the more I realize needs to be done. Jo's pretty laid back though, so that's a good thing. Drey too. Sonja is coming over Saturday afternoon to help me learn how to thread and use my serger. Then I'll be able to serge the extra tablecloths for decorations. They're square and we're going to serge them diagonally so they can be used to decorate the head table and behind it and all around. If I'm perfectly honest, I'm terrified of my serger. Maybe I should just sew and cut them? Isn't that the job of the serger? Yes. So I will learn. Jo's ordering her flowers from Costco (we'll need someone to pick them up) and we're making our bouquets while we're getting our hair done by Celsea and makeup done by Jerika. Only 2 weeks and 2 days until camping. Then 6 weeks and 2 days until the wedding. Eeeeeeeee!

The news is ... well, the news. While there is always something new, in a way it all seems old. Like an old record playing over and over and over. Trump is still tweeting his little heart out. Trudeau is still an idiot. Quebec is still taking our money and reducing their debt, while giving absolutely nothing in return. Oil is still too low for us to sustain ourselves. The garbage people got a new contract and the garbage is screwed up royally. Our town politics are getting quite exciting, with new faces and a tough decision for major (there's really only one to vote for and no one knows anything about him), there are incumbents running and new faces, and women! There are a couple of good fb sites with info on them, but no one's really talking a lot yet. Hopefully it picks up after the summer.

Happy 150th Birthday Canada! The celebrations were bigger including parades, entertainment, performers and fireworks! Sadly I was down for the count with a headache and missed every single thing. :(

Toodles!
