You know, sometimes you just have to wonder. You give 150%, be a team player, try your damnedest to keep things running, even while they flounder. You do all this without becoming one of the brown nosers of the bunch, without giving good head and learning to swallow, you do this while being honest with everyone, with a smile and an attitude that fosters happiness and good working conditions rather than helping to feed the waiting negative office beast. The one that lurks around each corner, waiting to hear someone complain about something, it then drags another victim in ... okay, maybe I'm going a little too far here (not enough sleep, I'm thinking) ...
My evaluation ended with me receiving an outstanding rating. Of course, outstanding ratings always have to go to a couple of people above for approval, but when it comes from a director's recommendation, one would assume she speaks for her group and they are good for their word. Well, the email and phone calls come through and it turns out that those above felt I wasn't really outstanding, rather I exceeded expectations. This is the difference between 5% and 3%, which is as it was originally worded to me "a nice little bonus". So, because I left this organization, they choose not to honour my evaluation, which equates to a savings for them of $90.09. Nothing like letting that big door hit me hard in the ass on the way out. Thanks so very very much for everything you've done in the past year, but you jumped ship and we need that outstanding rating for someone in upper management. Oh, never mind. Life goes on, there are reasons for everything and I am now where I am supposed to be.
The days continue to be busy and December always seems to go very quickly. Football is done, Braunt's into basketball, Kiershyn's working a lot and Drey's started a new job as well. Only 4 more days until Braunt's b-day, then Kier's and then x-mas and the new year and then we start yet another cycle in our lives. Tonight is K&R's x-mas party so we'll be there for a little bit - not too long because our Dadums has to work tomorrow, but a little while will be fun. Braunt and I went shopping last night and bought a little 36" fibre optics tree and some mini decorations. No one wants a big tree (mainly because our animals would likely take it down), and we also don't enough open space, which is Dadum's speak for "it better not block my television!" Anyway, the little tree looks cute and I'll be putting up more decorations throughout the week. Have to head out for groceries tomorrow. We thought we could grab everything today, but we quickly ran out of room with dogums' food and crat food and pizzas and big things. There are times I really miss our Montana.
More than their birthdays, I think Kier and Braunt are excited about not being grounded anymore, which happens in 3 sleeps! I'm sure they'll think twice about skipping or being late for school again as the consequences will be WAY worse than the past 2 weeks have been.
Well, best be running to check the lasagna and get things ready to head to the party.
Toodles for now!
