Happy 2007!

Good day! How are you this beautiful day? I hope that things are well and that you no tragedy affected your life overnight. After reading the Sun, it appears there were no major mishaps during the night and that all is well in our area of the province.

The teens are safe and accounted for, and all made very good choices last night. Drey maybe have imbibed a few spirits; Braunt stayed at his buddy's and Kiershyn was with her friend MS chillaxing into the New Year. I received text messages at midnight wishing us HNY, but I slept through the initial sounds until I finally woke at 3AM and read them. Before I knew it, the dogs needed to go out and it was 4:30. Then I crashed back into bed only to be awoke by Dadums and the critters at 9. Crazy!

Well, I haven't stepped on the scale - in fact I'm kind of scared to go near it. It's been a great few weeks of celebrating. LOL. I can tell by how things are fitting that I'm really not going to like the numbers. Okay, here goes .... I'll be right back.....

OMFGJCAM!! Okay, well, I didn't know it would be that bad!!! Freak! Oh elliptical here I come!!!! So, you're wondering, just how bad is it? Well, let's just say that my BMI is 35.4 (measurements will be following shortly). Wowzers! At its highest, my BMI was 43.9 and at its lowest it was 25.0 - so I know I can do it!

So, who's for jumping on the get healthier bandwagon? I could call it Going Loopy with Lala! (Disclaimer: Do not attempt any exercise, diet or physical changes without seeing your physician.) It IS time to make some changes. I have tried big changes and little changes and all the changes between - so what can I do to make this time different or rather what should I do the same that worked and build upon that? Here are some things that have worked in the past and/or I am going to try this time:

  • Re-learn my body's signals for hungry and full, and listen to what I really want to eat. Here are a few links: One-Hungry/Full, Two-Hungry/Full, Three-Listen to you Body, Four-this one is great especially as you near the bottom of the article, Five-wiki definition, Six-wiki how to, Seven-Change from 'eating whenever you can and exercising only when you must' to 'eating only when you must and exercising whenever you can.', Eight-Understanding Hunger and Full .
  • Move my body! When I was at my most healthy, I was a size 10, weighed 150 pounds and worked out 45 minutes a day 4 days a week. I ate when I was hungry and stopped when I was full. In thinking back to my eating habits, I grazed throughout the day on small amounts of food.
  • Find a buddy! I have asked Drey if he would be my exercise partner. He's said yes, but he doesn't seem that thrilled about it. My back up plan is to have the HDTV as my partner until it gets warmer. I hope to be slimmer by the spring, then Daig and I can spend time walking and maybe even running.
  • Track my progress through my blog, with weigh ins and measurement updates. Perhaps a couple of photos here and there.
  • Maybe meet some friends (both online and off) who are in the same predicament as me and want to help themselves get more healthy.

Gotta post this as it is really tomorrow already. More to follow today after work.

Toodles!
