Our Babes, Puppies, Elections and Fascism

I just read an excellent article on fascism. If you make it through to the end and then the comments, I'd love to hear your opinion and discuss it. Well the USA election has concluded with Donald Trump as the winner. I didn't really like either one but felt Hillary was the lesser of two evils. I likely would have voted for her just so that I voted and could bitch for the next 4 years. I was a little shocked that Trump made it. I guess the majority has spoken. I've been sad lately, missing certain people and pets that are gone. Today was a particularly bad one for Miss Lucy. I was missing her something fierce. I'm so thankful for family and friends and our little pets - who all help keep me grounded and sane. I love you all. Some pics ... Party All the Time

Well, I survived last night. Actually, it was a great night. I had a lot of fun and made it to 1:00 AM before I retired. Jo and I talked and laughed and bonded. I'm getting a pretty good daughter-in-law. She's got her quirks, like us all, but I think I'll keep her. I might toss Drey, but I'll keep Joanna. Little Miss Ariya's flower girl dress came in. It's absolutely gorgeous! Just like in the picture! I want to try it on her so badly, but we're afraid she's going to get upset when she has to take it off - as well as want to try it on every time she's here. It's a 5/6, so it's going to fit for sure. In fact it might need to be altered a little to fit. We'll see. Talked to little Lori this afternoon. I guess she had a VERY good night and paid for it today. REALLY paid for it. LOL Well, Drey's gone to work, Jo's watching her shows, I'm getting set to finish the Breaking Bad series. Incredible series if you like twists a

Drunk with my Friend

Here I sit at my computer, having imbibed 8 or 9 oz of alcohol in the past 4 hours. I am feeling absolutely no pain and in fact feel better. My friend Joanna and I have had an awesome night. To cover the websites we've seen would take anyone else double the time. LOL We have experienced several occasions of Wimsey and glee through our evening endeavours. We have sampled various alcoholic beverages which have of a good time. I'm slowly fading Jo brought me my water and it's not sitting that well. I've got grumblies in my tumblies. Toodles

Drey and Joanna's Engagement Pics

The pictures turned out beautifully.

Today's Stuff

There's lots in the news today, not necessarily all of it good. The Olympics are slated to begin in August. Sadly Rio De Janeiro has declared a state of financial emergency. With an expected 500,000 visitors, the resources put on the country will be devastating. I thought cities had to prove the ability to support the Olympics when they made their submission. Perhaps I've got that wrong though. Trump Trump Trump . This man is damn scary. I'm afraid that enough rednecks will come out of their hovels to vote for someone who has become their hero. Not that Hilary is much better, but come on. We all have a right to our opinions, be they right or wrong. Protesting near someone's funeral steps over the line. The Westboro Baptist Church (known for its hatred toward the LGBT community) chose to bring their placards with hate filled messages one block from the funeral for Christopher Leonin who was killed last Sunday at Pulse nightclub. Thankfully over 1,000 support

Mikalya's Ball Game

Joanna and I went to Beaumont to watch Mitzy play softball. She excelled on first base and we hear she's quite the pitcher too, although she didn't play that position this game. We got to meet Charlie, Rob and Kris' new little Boston Terrier. Oh what a button. The first thing I did when I got home was to check if there were any on kijiji. The next thing I did was remember how much work a baby is with training and everything, and then the idea didn't seem to appealing. LOL Darrin has been on a house and yard cleaning binge. Everything looks so wonderful. He's worth his weight in gold. Speaking of gold, we've got the most incredible neighbours, Terry and Laurie. They are just the nicest people ever. Laurie takes care of the vines that separate our houses, and they're always willing to chat and catch us up on the neighbourhood news. I'm going to pick them up a little something just to say thanks. Tomorrow's Father's Day! Darrin got his present

Thoughts

Kids, pets and the elderly DO NOT belong in a vehicle on a hot day! Kids should be REAR FACING until MINIMUM two years of age, longer if their weight dictates it. If you flip your child to forward facing too soon and you're in an accident, you run the risk of internally decapitating your child. Yes, it will be your fault. Sadly. How much is 0.05? A hell of a lot less than you think! Things idiots ponder ... Little dogs need to be harnessed rather than collared and leashed. This is because their little trachea's can collapse, leading to coughing attacks. While a collar is find around the house, snuggle them up in a harness for walks.  More:  For many toy breeds, a Back-Attaching Harness is preferred.  It does not create the same pressure and tightening affect in the chest as the front-attaching harness would for a large breed dog.  Plus, toy breeds are smaller and more sensitive to pressure, making the front-attaching harness potentially more damaging and painful tha

Second blog in a day!!

Now that I've updated our family news, onto other things ... namely the news. First let me start with facebook. OMG what a bunch of whiny, bitching, conniving, snotty, rude people. Start with a comment, and you'll soon be jumped on by a multitude of attention starved, self serving, ignorant people who bitch just to hear themselves bitch. The mom's group and the rant and rave are by far the worst. There are so many fights and bickering that people regularly get banned from the groups - although somehow get back in. The language is another thing. From f-bombs and see you next Tuesday, it's atrocious. I've removed myself from the majority however one I enjoy(ed) was the Fort Informed. I see today that someone who should've posted in rant and rave chose to take their bitching to that group. It's just never ending! Do you not have anything better to do than sit on your fat ass and complain about EVERYTHING!?!? 'Nuff said. So I got a new tattoo that I real

Hendrix Darrin Darryl Pierce

Wow! Granny is behind the times!! Hendrix was born on March 15, 2016. He came out looking like a chubby little bubble and has continued to grow like crazy! He's 15 lbs 3 oz now and every bit a button. Ariya loves him so much and is always giving him hugs and kisses. He has won over everyone's heart and is just a joy. He's 3 whole months old already! He's cooing and smiling and such a little darling. I'm so fortunate to have two such incredible grandchildren. It's amazing that they're 1/4 me! Braunt and Breanna are amazing parents. Bre keeps the house and kids together while Braunt works hard every day. They enjoy their family time together and share the care of the babies. They've got it together, that's for sure. They've also got a little kitty name Jenni - who is sometimes an escape artist. Ariya is a little muffin. She's into everything and is talking so much! Years 2 to 3 are such a big adjustment period for toddlers. Her curi

Pondering

I've been doing a lot of reading on bipolar disorder. Trying to read without triggers affecting me. Trying to see that I'm "normal" and that others have been where I'm at, at different times. An article I just finished reading talks about what might have been. It's really got me thinking about the past 30 odd years of dealing with this disorder. What might have been? I would have been a nicer person. Less angry. Less mean. Able to hold a job longer than 2 years. Less destructive. I was a nice person though. A lot of the time. And I didn't let my anger rule me always. I loved deeply and liked most. I was a good worker who excelled in my career field and worked up through the ranks to the top. Unfortunately, I fell from the pedestal in a massive cycling disaster. Again. Now? I like to think I've gotten better over the years. I've conquered some of my demons and moved myself forward. I take better care of myself (believe it or not). I love th

Happy 2nd Birthday Ariya!

It's our baby girl's 2nd birthday already! I, Uncle Dre and Auntie Joanna went out for supper and cake and presents. We had tacos for supper, lots of aluminum balloons, cake with Princesses and Bubble Guppies, and neat presents! She had a great time. Big thank you to Mommy for putting it all together. I can't believe it's been 2 years already. It seems like yesterday that we were waiting at the hospital, hoping everything was going okay. After what seemed like forever, Ariya Angeline was finally born and we got to meet her! She was precious and perfect right from the start. And she still is. Sadly, we've got some family members who have their heads up their asses when it comes to Ariya. I heard through the grapevine that someone who should hold Ariya so dear to her heart instead thinks she's spoiled. How the hell is a 2 year old spoiled? She is a wonderful little girl who is rarely in a foul mood. She plays well, shares (mostly lol) and is so loving it&#
