 I haven't held or kissed you in 32 years. I miss your touch. Your arms wrapped around me. Supporting my soul as I lay in your loving embrace.

My mom died on this day. I tried to make sense of everything. Nothing worked. The pain tore my heart into a million pieces. Everything was being ripped apart. I felt the piece of me that died with her. That piece is gone forever but memories of her love continue to fill in that hole. Each little bit of love makes its way to help me. Thank you to everyone who helps me slowly become a full person again.

Vivienne Anne Kozakevich opened her eyes on September 13, 1949. Her eyes closed forever on February 13, 1991.

A new life brings joy and love
A tiny boy holds your finger
He wraps himself around your heart

It’s amazing to share the life of one so young

One day the pain is excruciating
It steals your breath
You feel pieces leaving you

Beautiful memories pass before your eyes

Your love fills the room
Enveloping everyone as they
Say goodbye

As they blanket you with their love

So very tired
Eyes slowly closing
Focus on breathing

The respirator is noisy as it fills your lungs

You lay motionless
Love still radiating from your body
Breathing is hard

In and out

Breath forced into your body
Keeping you alive
Slowly you fight to stay

Your love is so strong

It continues to be unwavering
As your body slowly shuts down
Death is imminent regardless that we want you here

As they opened at birth

Your eyes close one last time
Your spirit leaves your body
An amazing chapter ends as you find peace.
