... of 2005. I remember, no really remember when I was 10 years old and Connie and I talked about the year 2000. Then I remember, really REALLY remember when I was 14 and Prince's song 1999 came out. We thought that was going to be forever away and couldn't even fathom being so old as 32! Crap - that was older than my parents! I seemed to remember seeing someone that old - she had support hose on and was pushing a walker. Now I'm 5 years further along and still wondering what each day will bring for adventure. What have I learned? I don't think much of anything except that because of teenagers I can understand why animals eat their young.
We (DBR, BDJ and I) went to Dō and Baba's yesterday. The boys harassed Dō quite well while Baba and I had time to visit. We eventually got to the presents, but not until we'd finished supper and dessert. A good time was had by all as we caught up on the happenings of various family members. KVS stayed home because she was supposed to go shopping with a couple of friends, but they ended up not calling so we're not sure what happened there. I'm sure her trunk of junk didn't move more than a few feet away from the computer all day (given the lack of things that was accomplished by the time I got home), but she more than made up for it today by tidying up so for that I'm thankful.
Thank you to my goddaughter for the gifts. I took the picture to work and put it on my desk for everyone to see. I hope your card made it through in the mail safe and sound. Nana - your cards arrived - thank you so much for the gifts; we all had fun picking things out. If anyone got our picture cards, please drop a comment and let us know (same with you stalkers). I'll be posting a few more pics on here once we get them fixed up - so then you'll be able to download and show off more.
I bought the managers at my work a little present today (see picture). They are bobbing little woodpeckers who have feathers atop their heads that wiggle all around. I tried to capture a good picture, but had to use KVS' cell phone (because the damn cord for our camera is toast) and it is just a sucky camera. Ce la vie. I'm sure they'll all enjoy them as they remind me of us and how we flit around our days.
Have to get off of here for now and head to WalMart to take back one of my gifts. Will perhaps write more tonight or maybe not until later.
Toodles!
