Well, we had yet another horrible case of child abuse reported in the city again. The frightening part is Det. Paul Czerwonka says, "I want the public to know that this is something very serious and this happens every day. This is not an isolated incident."
Do have a listen to Yukon Jack's My Big Yap. Unfortunately, they don't have the one I wanted to direct you to listen to. Yukon had an awesome rant about parents being licensed by the government and I agree with him 100%. We have to obtain licenses and permits and pay fees for so many other things. Think of how families who are adopting are scrutinized. We should all have to go through that to have children. Maybe I would have passed or maybe we would have failed - that remains to be seen. But we can't continue to allow people to pop out little people just because the stick fits in the hole. This is sick. Anyway, hopefully they'll get his rant up there soon...
What has happened to a 14 year old who allegedly kills a toddler? There has to be something that has occurred or she has witnessed or whatever to have caused her to react to a small child in such a fashion. Or perhaps she's an anomily and just enjoys watching things suffer at her hands. Will we ever really know? Probably not? If she's not already tarnished by talking with professionals, I'm sure she soon will be. If she has an iota of intelligence within her, she will quickly learn the answers they want to hear and will provide them unerringly. Anyway...
Birth control. There are a lot of different methods of birth control on the market. What ones have you tried? I've only done the pill or condoms, but that's because I don't have to worry about that anymore. Looking into the options, because I have teenagers, has been interesting. Some are better than others in their effectiveness, but condoms are still a must because of all the STD's that are rampantly running through our adolescent population. Anyway, there's still the pill, but in a much nicer dosage that doesn't seem to have the same side effects that we used to suffer through 20 years ago. There is also a once a month shot and a once every 3 months shot. Then there's the old diaphragm and IUD, as well as cups, sponges, creams, gels and such. The newest one I've heard of is the vaginal ring. It's quite interesting how it works, but I honestly have to wonder what it would be like. Would you feel it up there? What if it fell out? They say that it won't, but come on. What if? There are all these instructions on how you have to get it back into you within 3 hours or else you have to use something else for 7 days (like a condom) but because you should already be using a condom that shouldn't be an issue.
Well, I'm sitting here with KVS and this damn thing just published, so she figures that is a sign that it is her time to go on. I don't understand why I am so weak kneed when it comes to sticking to the punishments my child have earned. She is doing horribly in school and so I told her she wouldn't be allowed to go on the computer until she brings her marks up, but now she thinks because she got a 45% on a test that she should be allowed back on here. The frightening thing is that she's right - it is a great improvement and that is what I had asked. However, then she comes home this weekend without any books or anything, but I know that there is work to be done because I "heard it through the grapevine" so I wonder why she's pulling this shit again. (Got her wondering a now...)
Well, I'm done. I've got to head to bed. Stay safe and keep grinning.
Toodles!
